Disney+ is Coming to Hong Kong in November

Disney+ will be available in Hong Kong starting on the 16th of November. The platform features Disney’s iconic brands: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star.

At a press conference yesterday, The Walt Disney Company announced their online streaming service Disney+, which hosts an extensive library of Disney’s feature brands- Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and Star, including Disney+ originals Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye and Star Wars’ The Mandalorian– will be available for viewership in Hong Kong, starting on November 16th, 2021.

From beloved classics to recent blockbuster releases and new original content, Disney+ will offer to consumers an exceptional and expansive selection of entertainment for all ages, all in one place,” said Kerwin Lo, General Manager, The Walt Disney Company, Taiwan and Hong Kong. “With Disney+, we aspire to engage and delight consumers through unparalleled storytelling, creative excellence and cutting-edge content delivery.”

Disney+ is a leading player in the online streaming platform industry, which underwent a significant boom over the course of the ongoing pandemic. Offering high quality and commercial free viewing, on up to four concurrent devices, downloads on up to 10 devices, personalised features, and recommendations. Disney+ also has “Kids Profiles,” which parents can set up for easy navigation and age-appropriate content.

Upon the platform’s release in Hong Kong, subscribers will have access to Disney’s extensive library of over 1,200 films and 16,000 episodes. This includes the Star platform, which offers a wide range of entertainment options, from comedies, to dramas and thrillers, from Disney Television Studios (ABC Signature and 20th Television), FX Productions, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight Pictures. Later on, Disney+ will be releasing brand new originals and Asian content developed in collaboration with creative talent in the region.

Hong Kong consumers will be able to subscribe to Disney+ directly from their website or app on Android and iOS devices. After which, subscribers will be able to enjoy Disney+ anytime, from a wide range of mobile and connected TV devices including smartphones and tablets, gaming consoles, smart TV, and connected TV devices.
