Art Central Returns in March 2023 Presenting Exceptional Curations of Contemporary Artists

Hong Kong’s Art Central returns to the HKCEC from March 22 to 25, 2023, bringing together the next generation of Asian contemporary talent, distinguished galleries, and global artists.

Art Central is returning in 2023 from Wednesday, the 22nd of March to Saturday, the 25th of March, to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) for its much-anticipated 2023 edition, showcasing the next generation of talent from Asia’s most ambitious galleries alongside distinguished artists from around the globe.

Following Hong Kong’s lifted travel and quarantine restrictions, Art Central is welcoming both local and international audiences to a multicultural celebration of art with 70 influential galleries and over 300 artists from Hong Kong to Busan, Johannesburg to New York, Madrid toTokyo, and beyond.

The 2023 edition of the fair will feature a diverse range of mediums and artistic expression alongside innovative programmes across three gallery sectors – Central Galleries, Curated Booths, and Solo Presentations, and featuring additional large-scale installations

Notable participating galleries include Hong Kong-based Square Street Gallery, which will offer a cutting-edge programme of local artists, including Nobody Here, Dave Chow, Emily Kueis, Daisuke Tajima, Amy Tong, and Clara Wong alongside Contemporary by Angela Li, presenting Kurt Chan, Lv Shanchuan, Ken Chan King Long, Chan Wai Lap, Cheung Tsz Hin, Fatina Kong, Kwong Man Chun, Ng Chung, Jacky Tsai, Wong Sze Wai, Wu Didi, and Angela Yuen.

Art Central is a cornerstone event of Hong Kong Art Week, which was inaugurated in 2015. The event aims to push boundaries in contemporary art and is recognised today as a place of discovery for collectors and curators worldwide.

Highlighted groundbreaking contemporary artists from Hong Kong, the Asia Pacific region, and beyond include figurative ink painter Wilson Shieh curated by JPS Gallery, the late Japanese avant-garde artist Katsumi Nakai by Novalis Art Design, and Tomokazu Matsuyama, an artist of the Japanese diaspora, by Curator Style.
