Hong Kong’s Henderson Land and local social enterprise Cookie Smiles get together this holiday season with cookie popups raising funds for ImpactHK.
Local social enterprise Cookie Smiles and leading property developer Henderson Land Group are collaborating this Christmas, opening popups throughout the city selling tasty cookies to raise funds for charity. From December 20th to 22nd, 2021, Cookie Smiles and Henderson Land’s Matcha Moon flavoured co-branded cookie, inspired by the book written by the social enterprise’s Co-founder, Jo Soo-Tang, will be available for purchase, and funds will be donated to ImpactHK.
A social enterprise under the Edible Artists Global Academy Association (EAGAA), Cookie Smiles raises funds for local charities and causes and provides training and jobs for the physically impaired.
“Many best aspirational things in life start with the letter “H”. Henderson Land has a strong Heritage in contributing to the community and our idea is to support Holiday giving and spread Happiness with Healthy cookies at the same time.” said Mr. Martin Lee, Chairman of Henderson Land Group. “We are pleased to be collaborating with a local social enterprise to give back to the less advantaged in this vibrant city we call home.”
Celebrating both organisations’ Hong Kong roots, Henderson Land and Cookie Smiles designed special edition cookies with the letter “H,” which will be sold at three popup fairs at Henderson Land properties: Manulife Financial Centre in Kwun Tong, AIA Tower in North Point and Mira Place 1 in Tsim Sha Tsui. Symbolising “Henderson,” “Heritage,” “Health,” “Happiness,” and “Holiday Giving” the cookies come in five unique flavours: matcha, jasmine, coconut, confetti choco, and chocolate.
Jo Soo-Tang, the Co-founder of Cookie Smiles said: “The baking and gifting of cookies has been a long time Yuletide tradition, but we at Cookie Smiles wanted to incorporate both Asian and traditional Christmas flavours to tempt the taste buds of both locals and cosmopolitans alike. Whether you are buying our delicious, handcrafted cookies as unique and personable holiday gifts, or getting them as treats to enjoy with a cuppa in between all the festive holiday shopping, these bites come with an incredible home-baked tastiness that will make everyone feel special.”
The limited edition cookies will be available at Manulife Financial Centre on the 20th of December, 12pm-6:30pm, AIA Tower on the 21st of December 12pm-6:30pm and Mira Place 1 on the 22nd of December, 12pm-8pm.
The cookies can also be purchased online via Cookie Smiles from December 22nd to 31st. Cookie Smiles will be hosting Matcha Moon storytelling sessions at Petit Bazaar in Central on the 18th and 19th of December, 3pm-4pm.
Treat yourself and your loved ones to some delicious cookies while supporting a good cause, and spread some joy this holiday season!
