Hong Kong’s Caribbean patty-inspired concept Patty Boi is hosting a ‘420’ pop up 4 course menu event at Maka Hiki in little Tai Hang.

On April 20th, 2023, Hong Kong’s Patty Boi will be popping up at tiki bar and grill, Maka Hiki, a tropical oasis nestled in the heart of little Tai Hang.

Russell Doctrove‘s Patty Boi pays homage to Caribbean culture, serving delicious and hearty patties infused with diverse Southeast Asian flavours and spices. Hong Kong restaurateur Maxence Traverse‘s revitalised “tiki chic” concept is inspired by his island experiences serving up a delicious range of fresh, and flavour-packed dishes and cocktails.

The dinner will start guests with a riff on a traditional Trinidadian dish of flaky roti with a Patty Boi twist- a macadamia satay sauce, salted coconut cream, and herbs. A Caribbean Crudo will follow showcasing lightly torched salmon paired alongside a vibrant papaya and pomelo puree, a tangy dressing made from fish sauce and palm sugar, served with fresh betel leaves.

The next course features Fried Jerk Chicken marinated in buttermilk and a secret Patty Boi jerk marinade for 3 days, fried to crispy perfection, and topped with a chilli tamarind jam that packs a punch through the addition of scotch bonnet peppers.

For dessert, guests will be treated to a Pineapple Cake with Caribbean dark rum, sweet pineapple jam, and an ube soft cream.

Max Traverse, the Managing Director and owner of Maka Hiki will be preparing 3 exclusive themed cocktails for guests to enjoy alongside the sharing menu.
