Seafood Expo Asia will be coming back in September 2022 in Singapore for the first time in four years.

Seafood Expo Asia is returning as an in-person event in 2022 in Singapore at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 14th to the 16th of September, for the first time in four years. The last exhibition was held in Hong Kong in 2018, was cancelled in 2019, and again by organisers Diversified Communications in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic.

According to Diversified, the relocation of the exhibition to Singapore will meet the needs of companies across the seafood value chain in Asia, while also helping other seafood companies to expand their reach with Asian markets.

The Singapore Tourism Board, Exhibitions and Conferences Executive Director Poh Chi Chuan stated, “Seafood Expo Asia is the definitive seafood trade show for Asia, and its presence in Singapore shows the continued confidence our valued partners place in Singapore as a safe, reliable, and trusted destination for business events. We look forward to extending a warm welcome to all participants to a safe and meaningful event in Singapore.”

For the last two years in 2020 and 2021, the online event Seafood Expo Asia Reconnect was hosted to connect international seafood suppliers and Asian buyers. The aim for the exhibition in 2022 is to reintroduce its business matchmaking programme between sellers and high-volume importers and buyers. In addition, there will be an exhibit floor with suppliers providing fresh, chilled, frozen, canned, and value-added seafood, as well as speakers discussing industry topics in Asia specifically.

Diversified Communications Group Vice President Liz Plizga commented, “Findings from third-party independent research revealed that, driven by growing consumption and imports, Southeast Asia has a growing need to meet with international seafood suppliers. Seafood Expo Asia is well-positioned to serve a wider Asian audience and create opportunity for the seafood community throughout Asia and the world. The relocation will better position Seafood Expo Asia as a hub event to facilitate both Southeast and East Asia buyers in strong growing markets with easy accessibility.”
