Taiwanese startup Ubiik acquires New Zealand-based Mimomax to propel efficiency in critical networks and wireless solutions.
Taiwan’s Ubiik is an emerging leader in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and private LTE (pLTE) solutions. The startup recently announced its successful acquisition of New Zealand-based Mimomax Wireless, a renowned provider of mission-critical communication solutions for narrowband channels. This strategic move not only accelerates Ubiik’s market expansion but also grants Mimomax’s global mission critical customer base access to Ubiik’s cutting-edge pLTE product line. Together, the companies aim to revolutionise communications for utilities and critical infrastructure worldwide.
With a trajectory set to surpass 1 million AMI device deployments by 2024, Ubiik has continued to lead the industry through its relentless pursuit of innovation with Weightless™ and cellular IoT LPWAN technologies, alongside its robust headend software infrastructure. As a pioneer in the pLTE landscape, Ubiik has effectively tackled the coverage limitations faced by existing public LTE networks, thus enabling seamless AMI deployments for utilities.
