Hong Kong’s Code-Create introduces AiDA by AiDLab at Fashion X AI: 2022-2023 International Salon, the world’s first fashion AI platform that can generate limitless original designs based on a designer’s creative inspirations.
Co-created by Professor Calvin Wong, Dr. Aemika Zou, and their research team, AiDA by Code-Create’s Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab) can generate limitless AI fashion designs based on a person’s creative inspirations. Introducing their proprietary technology at Fashion X AI: 2022-2023 International Salon on the 19th of December, 2022, international brands such as Hong Kong-based contemporary label The World Is Your Oyster, Australia’s INJURY, and Korea’s Besfxxk, alongside local designers Mountain Yam, Kay Kwok, and Fengyi Tan, also debuted their first fashion AI collections with AiDA at the event.
Code-Create’s Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Kim Wong commented, “Code-Create’s mission is to revitalise the fashion ecosystem through AI. AiDA is transforming the way how we fashion and retail new designs. AiDA speeds up the fashion design process, saving more than 60% of time [spent] on design inspiration and development.”
AiDA’s tech integrates Mixi, a style search engine which identifies Pantone colours and activates automatic tagging with over 230 fashion attributes, enabling the generation of limitless fashion inspirations for designers.
Code-Create’s Co-founder, the Centre Director of AiDLab, and the Co-inventor of AiDA, Professor Calvin Wong shared, “AiDA is the first-in-market technology that can generate original designs for single fashion items, or a lineup of outfits based on designer’s creative inspirations in 10 seconds. Equipped with a variety of AI technologies, AiDA can recognise a designer’s inspirations through mood boards, colour choices, fabric print selections and sketches to generate limitless design proposals to spark designers’ creativity.”
While fashion product searches typically take 1.3 to 7 seconds, Mixi’s engine not only pins results within 1 second with more than a 90% accuracy rate- in comparison with the industry’s current rate of less than 50%– but also delivers authenticity and personalisation because of its AI machine learning capacity.
The AI fashion engine’s automatic tagging enables instant and relevant style searches through intelligent fine-grained fashion attributes and its advanced colour recognition system.
AiDA’s technology is currently available across APAC and Europe, and is now a prerequisite in Hong Kong Polytechnic University‘s School of Fashion and Textiles.
