New Middle Eastern restaurant and lounge Bushra opens in Tsim Sha Tsui bringing bold flavourful cuisine, and a signature Arabian-inspired cocktail menu by Sandeep Kumar, Founder of award-winning cocktail bar The Wise King.

Bringing together talented chefs Morocco-born El Mehdi Zenasni, Egyptian Sakr Tamer, and Najib Farkhoury from Lebanon, the latest middle Eastern concept in Hong Kong, Bushra is set to deliver rich and exotic flavours from the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean.

Derived from popular Arabic girl’s name meaning “good news,” Bushra’s luxurious two-story venue is bringing lively Beirut lounge-club vibes to Tsim Sha Tsui complemented by a curated cocktail menu designed by Sandeep Kumar, the legendary creator, founder, and owner behind award-winning cocktail bar The Wise King.

Coming from 22 years of experience working in reputable Beirut restaurants across Hong Kong, Chef Najib has returned to the city to combine his skillset with Chefs Mehdi and Sakr to present a delectable menu featuring popular dishes from their homelands.

With an interior designed by award-winning local firm MAG Studio, Bushra is inspired by a glittering gold colour scheme, bold curved shapes, and traditional Indian wooden Mughal gates opening up to a large restaurant and theatrical curved bar. A “secret garden” and shisha terrace, lead into a narrow staircase, second dining room, and VIP terrace for an exclusive private dining experience.

In-house and guest DJs most nights featuring traditional belly dance performances will liven up the lounge reminiscent of nightclubs in Beirut.

Bushra’s three talented chefs have created a menu of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine using many ingredients imported directly from the region. The menu begins with a selection of cold and hot mezzes including the Hummus, Moutabal, a smoked chargrilled eggplant that is chopped with fresh parsley, lemon juice and tahini to form a rich puree, Muhammara, a dip made from roasted bell peppers, breadcrumbs, walnut, pomegranate and molasses, the Ras el keba, minced beef and bulgur meatballs, Hot Herbs Garlic Butter Prawns, Lamb Kebab, and the Batata Harra.

Main courses include the Moroccan Beef Tajine, Oven Baked Whole Seabass, and Persian Chicken Pilaf, an aromatic rice dish with saffron, cinnamon, cumin, sweet onions and raisins which is popular in Iran, and a first for Hong Kong.

Bushra also has an authentic tandoori oven and will bring delightful Middle Eastern desserts such as the Galaktoboureko with semolina, filo pastry, lemon syrup, pistachio, and served with ice cream.

Sandeep Kumar’s cocktail list draws from the celebrated mixologist’s own experiences working for several years in the Middle East.

Offering classic cocktails with an Arabian twist, Sandeep’s menu features the Habibi, a restyled bellini, the Turkish Espresso Martini, the Baklava Sour, the Chick Chick Colada with a touch of chickpea, and the Date Old-Fashioned Way with date syrup.
