Local artist Zoie Lam presents “Zoie Lam Exhibition – A Good Start” with agnès b, a colourful multimedia gallery collection and charity sale raising funds for ChiWing Dog Base Hong Kong.
Commemorating Earth Month and their conscious approach, French lifestyle and fashion label agnès b. is collaborating with Hong Kong artist Zoie Lam to present a special exhibition from the 1st of April to the 1st of May, 2023. “Zoie Lam Exhibition – A Good Start” will be featured at the agnès b. K11 Art Mall flagship store RUE DE MARSEILLE merging retail and art in a playful and vibrant gallery.
Zoie’s multimedia exhibition will also feature exclusive charity souvenirs raising funds for local charity ChiWing Dog Base (Dog Base).
The new exhibition marks agnès b.’s first collaboration with a local artist featuring over 20 of Zoie’s dazzling multimedia masterpieces and a one-off 2.7m by 2.7m mural the artist drew in just two days. Additional works will be displayed at other agnès b. boutiques including their CAFÉ at Langham Place.
Titled “An Intergalactic Odyssey of Imagination,” the exhibition feature’s Zoie’s character Tuitui, a native of her imaginary planet “ZLISM,” embarking on an adventure of self-discovery through vibrant works that mimic tapestries interwoven with multimedia elements.
Highlighting the brand’s passion for sharing love, the collaboration extends beyond showcasing Zoie’s artworks- 3 event-exclusive souvenirs will be available for visitors to purchase to support Dog Base’s rescued animals.
As a regular volunteer at Dog Base herself, Zoie not only takes care of the animals personally, but also extends her values in her professional work, making the exhibition more meaningful. Like agnès b., the artist prizes sustainability and uses Icelandic, non-toxic materials in her art.
In the future, agnès b. aims to continue to connect with more local artists who support sustainable development.
“At the end of the day, art is about sharing, I want as many people as possible to see these works,” shares the Founder of agnès b., Agnès Trouble.
Combining her initials “ZL” with “LISM,” “Zlism stands for Zoie’s philosophy and ideas spreading positive energy through kind-hearted characters. Most of Zoie’s artworks feature an intricate tapestry of patterns juxtaposed with vivid colours.
She has showcased her art at Busan Art Fair, Affordable Art Fair, Asia Contemporary Art Fair, and now at agnès b.
A Hong Kong-recognised charity ChiWing Dog Base was founded by ChiWing in 2011 for the purpose of rescuing wounded, abandoned, and stray animals in the city. They currently operate two centres supported by passionate volunteers who care for approximately 120 strays.
All funds and donations received will be used to rescue animals and pay for treatment, rent, prescription feed, medication, and more.
