Multi-purpose cafe Whatever Coffee launches in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong, and welcomes partnership with No Paper Studio in an exhibition aiming to open cross-generational cultural dialogue through pop culture art pieces inspired by retro Hong Kong movie poster aesthetics.
Hong Kong’s newly opened F&B concept Whatever Coffee is not an ordinary cafe, self-described as an “utopia for storytellers and dreamers.” The multi-purpose art and coffee shop will showcase a new exhibition every month, inviting visitors to embark on a visual-cultural journey while they enjoy the tasty range of beverages available.
A new concept in the vibrant cultural neighbourhood of Sham Shui Po, the cafe is a fusion of the old and the new both inside and outside. Reviving historical architecture with bold and fresh design, the new location makes a perfect backdrop for its opening exhibition.
Kicking off the launch, Whatever Coffee is partnering with local illustration and design company No Paper Studio to co-host “My Daughter’s vs My Childhood Memories” from May 7th to 18th. The exhibition features pop icons such as Garfield, Ultraman Tiga, and popular boy band MIRROR, depicted in the style of old Hong Kong movie posters, symbolising how childhood memories shift across generations and encouraging a cross-generational cultural dialogue.
No Paper Studio illustrates pop culture trends in a playful and humorous manner through nostalgic aesthetics including Chinese calligraphy, hand painted graphics, and a text-intensive layout. Aiming to not only delight their audiences with their vintage designs, No Paper Studio also aims to preserve Hong Kong culture for future generations.

To help you cool down, the Lemon Cold Brew features a blend of citrus flavours and bold espresso that delivers an invigorating twist. For those who savour a bittersweet aftertaste, the Espresso Tonic perfectly balances acidity and bitterness with sweet tonic water, creating a full-bodied and complex flavour.
