InvestHK’s annual StartmeupHK Festival 2022 will bring together world-leading industry players and changemakers to share their insights on the city’s thriving startup ecosystem.
Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK)’s annual StartmeupHK Festival is coming back in hybrid format this year from the 5th to 10th of September, 2022. Guided by the theme of “A Future Unlimited,” the 2022 edition of the influential startup conference will explore trending topics such as the metaverse, NFTs, gaming, HealthTech, PropTech, sustainability, and more.
Despite challenges brought on by the ongoing pandemic, last year’s StartmeupHK Festival welcomed 806 speakers and 39,000 attendees from over a hundred countries, resulting in over 470 successful business collaborations. Through seven main events and a range of community events, Asia’s leading startup event of the year will feature even more keynotes from global business leaders, thought-provoking panel discussions, startup pitches, investor matching, competitions, exhibitions, and job fairs.

The event will kick off with the GBA Innovation Summit hosted by TusPark, who will spotlight key insights on the potential of the Greater Bay Area (GBA), touching on the development of FinTech and green finance, and the region’s roadmap for automation and sustainability.
Simultaneously, the hybrid 1.5°C Summit – The Defining Decade for Impact with Tech will be hosted by Eureka Nova and New World Development, diving into how technology can reduce the impacts of climate change and build a more sustainable future, exploring net-zero electricity innovation, energy-saving technologies in green buildings, greener transport solutions, and reimagining waste reduction.
On September 6th, Brinc will be hosting the Asia Healthcare Innovation Summit, bringing together key players in Asia’s expansive healthcare ecosystem in the BioTech, HealthTech, MedTech, and blockchain spaces. A Asia Healthcare Innovation Pitch Competition will also be showcasing startups innovating in life-science solutions.
On the second and third day of the event, the Scaleup Impact Summit 2022 – Universe x Metaverse by WHub will bring together attendees from around the world online, in person, ore even through the metaverse. World-class speakers will share about the future of web 3.0, industry 4.0, quantum computing, FoodTech, GameFi and other next-gen disruptions.
A new addition to the Festival, Game On! will occur on the 8th and 9th of September. Hosted by MaGESpire, the event will break down the essence of gaming, art, music, and entertainment industries.
On the same day, Asia PropTech Beyond by Asia PropTech will be livestreamed featuring forward-thinking leaders, corporates, and startups at the forefront of the PropTech evolution who will discuss immersive retail experiences, virtual real estate, NanoTech, and ClimateTech.
Also on the 9th of September, KPMG‘s The Connected Cities Conference will showcase speakers discussing smart cities around the world, and how IoT, AI, data analytics and other PropTech could enhance a city’s liveability, workability, and sustainability.
A number of community events including the brand new Women Scale-Ups and HK Tech 300 – Pitching Arena will be bringing together emerging talents and facilitating innovation.
