2023 Annual Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards Open for Application

Melbourne Royal opens entries for their 30th edition of the Australian International Beer Awards in 2023 and announces the return of international judging.

Melbourne Royal is accepting entries for the 2023 Australian International Beer Awards until Friday, the 17th of March. Following lowered travel restrictions across the globe, the Awards will also welcome back their international judging contingent. The largest annual beer competition in the world judging draught, packaged beer, and packaging design, this year marks the 30th edition of the global event.

Aiming to inspire and celebrate excellence in brewing, in 2022, the Awards attracted over 2,600 entries from more than 350 breweries of all sizes – from micro-volume to large scale commercial production- around the world. Melbourne Royal themselves are notably recognised for providing brewers a foundational benchmarking opportunity through the Australian International Beer Awards.

11 major alongside 24 category trophies will be up for grabs in 2023, including the Champion Australian Beer and Champion International Beer awards.

Melbourne Royal will also be updating their programme this year with an enhanced entry portal and partner Scan Global Logistics, to facilitate seamless cold freights directly to the Awards.

Notable breweries from around the world who participated in last year’s edition of the Awards include Artmonster Brewery from Korea, Deep Creek Brewing Co from New Zealand, Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan from Germany, and Belching Beaver Brewery from the US.

Winners of the 2023 Australian International Beer Awards will be announced at their popular Trophy Presentation Dinner which will be held in the Victoria Pavilion at the Melbourne Showgrounds on Thursday, the 25th of May, as well as live-streamed.
