A revolutionary French food rescue app launched in Hong Kong last year, Phenix honours Earth Month by announcing its pledge to rescue nearly 10 times more food from ending in landfills in 2022.
In celebration of Earth Month, Hong Kong’s thriving food rescue app, Phenix, announced its mission to combat the city’s staggering food wastage problem by pledging to save up to 69,000 kg of food for its second year of operation. The app has rescued over 7,000 kg of food from ending up in landfills, avoiding up to 32,000 kg of CO2 emissions since its establishment in 2021. Phenix is creating a sustainable food rescue system, by turning surplus supplies into new food opportunities.
The newest initiative of the Phenix Pledge will utilise leftover food to assemble mystery baskets of delightful goodies, allowing customers to choose and purchase goodie baskets available in selected areas.
In a joint venture with fashion e-commerce platform OnTheList, the French food rescue startup launched its app in Hong Kong, in February 2021. Phenix successfully drove accessible and enjoyable food rescue experiences through their partnerships with over 150 Food and Beverages (F&B) outlets, including Pret A Manger, Feather & Bone, RF1 SOZAI by Citysuper, along with their newest additions, namely Coffee Academics, local cafe chain Lassana Coffee, and Matchali.
Looking at some of the best deals available on Phenix this spring, Feather & Bone offers the perfect basket for a weekend brunch, which includes a sourdough bread loaf with a side selection of three delectable freshly-made bakery treats, such as croissants, Danish pastries, and muffins, along with other tasty bites.
Lassana’s guilt-free basket delivers light and appetising sandwiches, pastries, or bread, all of which are locally baked. For more nutritious choices, they offer a medium-sized Lassana Salad Bowl, which includes pasta, quinoa, and other select greens.
Matchali presents mellow sweet matcha-infused signature cookies and small bites. Another Phenix partner, Cheese Club, offers any selection of three succulent European assorted cheeses, such as Riberiego with truffle, Beaufort, and more.
To get started, customers can simply download the Phenix app, select, and purchase the special goodie baskets available in their locality, and visit the store to pick up their guilt-free goodies. Additionally, a promotion is being offered for new users who join before the end of April, where they can enjoy up to 50% off on the first mystery basket.
